Robert Sherman, CFP®, CPA, PFS

Principal, Private Client Advisor

Mr. Sherman is a Principal and Private Client Advisor in our New York City office.  Rob works directly with a select group of family office and private clients, helping them navigate the complexities associated with tax planning and management.

Rob uses a holistic wealth management process by incorporating core elements of financial planning: financial positioning, asset protection, investment management, cash flow, tax management, retirement planning, and estate and legacy planning. He also coordinates with his clients’ family members, attorneys, accountants, outside advisors, and with other members of their professional team. Rob is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional since 2017. Rob is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 2015.  Additionally, in 2018, Rob received the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) certification, which is a certification for CPAs that allows them to expand their expertise and offerings to include financial planning and wealth management.

Prior to joining F.L.Putnam, Rob served as a Director at KLS Professional Advisors, A Division of Silicon Valley Bank (2018-2023) offering comprehensive wealth management to law firm partners, executives, and wealthy families.

Prior to KLS, Rob served as a Client Advisor, Senior Tax Specialist at Gerstein Fisher (2015-2018) prior to its merger with People’s United Bank (Now M&T Bank). Rob began his career in the private client services practice at Ernst & Young LLP rising to the level of Tax Senior Associate (2012-2015).
