R. Thomas Manning, Jr., CFA

Principal, Chief Executive Officer and President

Mr. Manning is responsible for directing the long-term growth and business strategy for F.L.Putnam. He has more than thirty years of experience in leadership positions in the investment management industry.

Prior to joining the firm, Tom served as chief investment officer and as a member of the executive committee at Boston Private Wealth LLC, the wealth management division of Boston Private Bank & Trust Company, which managed and advised on over $9 billion in assets. He previously served in the same capacity at Banyan Partners and was the CEO and chief investment officer at Silver Bridge Advisors, a Boston-based boutique investment advisory firm.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Manning served as managing director of Portfolio Advisory Services for Bank of America where he oversaw 60 portfolio managers and $26 billion in assets for the Private Banking division. He was also a market investment executive within the Private Clients Group of Fleet Boston Financial.

Tom serves on the board of directors of the Notre Dame Healthcare Center. He also serves as chair of board of directors for F.L.Putnam Investment Management.
