Mr. McGowan is a principal and serves as Regional President of Upstate New York. He is also an investment advisor and responsible for portfolio construction and implementation of investment policy for individuals, families, as well as endowments and foundations. Larry seeks to align each client’s investment strategy with their financial planning objectives; taking into consideration time horizon; risk tolerance; income requirements; taxes; and other unique factors, such environmental, social, and governance considerations.
Larry previously served as President, and CCO at Arbor Capital Management in Amherst, NY, and grew that company to nearly $1 billion in assets managed on behalf of over 500 high net worth individuals and institutions. Prior to founding Arbor Capital, Larry held a variety of executive positions in the trust departments of several large banks.
Larry dedicates his time and talents to multiple community and civic organizations and is especially passionate about those that promote education. He previously served on the Canisius University Board of Regents, was director of the Oblate Missionary Society Inc., in Washington DC, and co-founded the Williamsville Educational Foundation. Also, he was previously chair of the Advancement Dept., Financial Planning committee, National Geographic Society, Washington, DC.
