Charles serves as a private client advisor from our Kalamazoo, MI office and works with individual, family, and institutional clients to help them achieve their financial objectives with prudence. In doing so, Charles seeks to understand the client’s past relationship with money and financial decisions, as well as their current resources, responsibilities, and constraints. He then seeks to translate those into practical and reasonable steps via a personalized, written financial plan. Upon establishing the plan, he helps clients implement the plan by coordinating with the other members of their financial team and across multi-generations as needed.
Charles began his career working with clients in the wirehouse channel in the late 1990s, then spent five years as an adjunct professor teaching courses in economics, finance, and accounting before returning to investment management in 2014 as an analyst and fixed income portfolio manager. Charles joined Arcadia Investment Management in 2020 and FLP in 2026.
In 2016, Charles founded Lafayette Creamery, a small-batch, super-premium ice cream manufacturer, and continues to serve as the Managing Member. He has also periodically served as a Middle School basketball coach. Charles has served on Board of the Kalamazoo Christian School Foundation since 2024 and served his church as a Ruling Elder from 2011-2017.
